BBQ Ribs

July 18, 2012

This is our favorite way to cook ribs–it’s pretty hands off, but takes all afternoon, so plan accordingly. All you need is your favorite BBQ sauce (ours is Open Pit) and ribs (we used pork ribs).

Fill a large stockpot with water (enough to cover all the ribs) and bring it to a boil. Carefully put all the ribs in the water and let them boil for about 45-60 minutes. Check that they are beginning to get tender before removing them. Place them in a baking dish in a single layer and cover with BBQ sauce. Cover with foil and bake at 250° for about 3 hours. The meat should be extremely tender and pretty much falling off the bone when you take them out of the baking dish. Transfer the ribs to a hot grill and give them a quick sear before serving.
