Halloween Fabric Balls

October 8, 2012

This is a fun and easy project (thanks, Pinterest), and one that you can customize for any room or holiday–it doesn’t have to be Halloween themed.  I’ve got these sitting in a large, rustic wood tray on our coffee table. They would also look good in a large hurricane or clear vase.

Here’s what you’ll need:

fabric of your choosing (I used 4 different fabrics)

fabric scissors

foam balls (mine are from Michaels)

dressmaker pins

Start by cutting your fabric into strips. Mine are about ½ inch, but the width of the strips depends on the size of the ball you are using. When you place the strip around the ball, you want it to lay flat–if it’s too wide the sides will stick up. Wind your first strip around the ball and pin into place.

The second strip will wind around the other way, like this:

Continue to wind your strips around until the entire ball is covered.

It doesn’t get much easier than that!
