My New Favorite Cocktail: The Paloma

This is my new favorite cocktail–I am totally addicted. It’s the perfect summer drink. I found the recipe here–it has just 3 ingredients: tequila, grapefruit soda and fresh lime juice. It’s pretty similar to a margarita and is very light and refreshing. It’s not one of those overly sweet drinks where you can drink only one. Trust me, you could drink these all night long.

Here’s how to make it (serves 2):

4 oz or ½ cup tequila (I recommend a clear tequila like Patron Silver)

juice of 1 lime

8 oz or 1 cup grapefruit soda (I get mine at Trader Joes or Whole Foods)

Serve over ice with a lime wedge. Careful, these can really sneak up on you…

*Once I was out of grapefruit soda so I tried making this with grapefruit juice and soda–it was not nearly as good.
