Broccoli with Cheese Sauce

Broccoli with cheese sauce is a family favorite in my house. I can’t believe how fast the broccoli disappears. The cheese sauce is ready to eat in the time it takes to steam the broccoli–it doesn’t get much easier than that!

On nights that I make cheese sauce, I somehow always manage to have french fries on the menu as well. You can’t beat the cheese sauce/french fry combo either!

Ingredients:

2 tbsp butter

2 tbsp flour

1 cup milk

1 cup grated cheddar cheese

salt, pepper and cayenne–to season

broccoli

Steam broccoli for 3-4 minutes.

Melt butter in small saucepan, then add flour. Slowly pour in the milk and stir until thickens. Remove from heat and add the cheese. Season with salt, pepper and cayenne.
